The book of Ages is inspired by the artful books found in the Middle Ages. These books have a more ruff exterior, yet embellished with all kinds of favorite possessions found in nature, such as leaves, barks, dried flowers, as well as more modern treasures such as buttons, charms, ribbons, and lace. Learn straw-hat history form one of our local experts. Diana has been a professional milliner for over 10 years, and has built a body of work for private clients as well as for the Old Globe. She will show you how to design and |
create a straw-hat from start to finish. You will start by blocking and sizing a crown and brim, then decorate and trim your own straw hat. Each student will also learn how to make the collapsible hat for traveling.
