Dear Kim;-

We apologize for taking so long to respond to you questions--but better late than
neve.

Look at your knitting. You will note that when you look at the knit side, the stitches
appear to be flat and when you look at the reverse side, or the purl side, the stitches
appear to be bumpy.

If you are knitting a knit 2, purl 2 ribbing, there will be 2 flat stitches, 2 bumpy
stitches, 2 flat stitches, 2 bumpy stitches, etc. across the row. When you work the
next row, you will notice that there are 2 flat, 2 bumpy, 2 flat, etc. Instructions that
read "kit the knits and purl the purls" means that you will knit the flat stitches and purl
the bumpy stitches.

I would like to refer you to our beginning cast on, knit, purl, cast off videios. You
may find these helpful to understanding the instructions.

Caryl

: My instructions read knit the knits, and purl the purls. I am a new knitter and don't understand what that means.
