I am a beginner trying to knit a scarf. The pattern calls for k1 p1 repeat for entire row. This is the pattern for the whole scarf. I'm confused about switching from knit to purl. How do you move the yarn from front to back for each stich? Also, I am using a chenille yarn. Is that harder to work with? It doesn't seem to slide very well. Should I use a different type?
