Dear Linda:
By this time you probably have your sweater finished, but we still wanted to respond
to you. March was sorta a hectic month around here.
Joining another ball of yarn is deceptively easy. You simply start knitting with
another ball of yarn. Since the two shoulders are separated by the opening for your
neck, you need to knit each side separately; therefore, the second ball of yarn.
Leave enough tail to weave into your knitting when the sweater is finished and start
knitting as if there was no beginning end.

: I am a novice knitter and am trying to make my first sweater. I am at the point where I have to shape the neck and it says to knit 19 stitches then bind off the center 10 stitches with a new ball of yarn and then continue doing the last 19 knit stitches. What I need to know is how to add that new ball of yarn exactly? Do I attach it to a third needle with a slip knot and then start binding off or what? I cannot find anywhere where it tell me how to add a new ball of yarn in the center of a row.
