I have very little experience with knitting. I learned the most basic basics when I was about 9. I didn't care for it much - I found it rather boring. I'm a crocheter at heart but I'm also an art teacher and several of my students have asked about knitting. I'm going to take one more shot at it. My first question is about my experience every time I start my first row of stitches - as I go along the gap of yarn between the needles gets bigger and bigger so I always have to add extra stitches. This cant be right! Any ideas?
